One exciting full-time opportunity as a Research Assistant I exists in the Women’s Age Lab at Women’s College Hospital reporting to Dr. Paula Rochon. This role will support the activities of a program of research focused on the health and well-being of older adults living in naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs).

Summary of Duties:
•    Work closely with the Project Manager, Research Lead and Research Coordinators.

Administrative Support
•    Coordinate, schedule and attend meetings; prepare agendas and meeting minutes.
•    Preparation of presentations and meeting materials (slides, posters).
•    Assist in the coordination and preparation of progress and annual reports.
•    Organize/coordinate travel related to research projects.
•    Provide other administrative support as required (e.g., photocopying, organizing, ordering meeting supplies, and maintaining filing system).
•    Ordering food and refreshments for stakeholder meetings.
Research Support
•    Support manuscript/abstract preparation and submission, grant and REB proposals. 
•    Aid in the preparation, administration, and collection of questionnaires to research participants or collaborators.
•    Enter survey data into a data base with attention to data accuracy.
•    Perform literature searches using PubMed, MEDLINE, or other databases.

Qualifications/Skills:
•    Successful completion of a university degree in health-related field.
•    Experience in a research environment and/or academic hospital.
•    Working knowledge of research terminology and methodology.
•    Interest in community-based research and aging/later life.
•    Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
•    Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other research-related software such as EndNote, REDCap and NVivo. Experience with Monday project management software as an asset.
•    Well-developed time management skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
•    Highly detail orientated.
•    Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently. Confidence to take initiative to complete tasks.
•    Ability to meet tight and fluid deadlines.
•    Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving abilities.
